Variable not doing as its told!

I have an issue that is causing me no end of problems and frustration.

Firstly I'm using Excel 2007

Background:
I create a report for 32 sales agents that shows various aspects of their role. The data that I need to compile the report is located on two different parts of an external drive. The data is located at my head office and I work remotely from that office and am networked to it.

Problem:
I have set 2 variables simple called Folder1 and Folder2, each variable has it's exact path to the folder concerned that I need to pull the data from. When I call the first variable everything is fine and I can select the desired data and pull it into my report, however when the second variable is called it locates the first variables 'information' and points me to the wrong folder, the first folder, 'Folder1'

Excel appears to 'remember' the first path and does not allow the overwrite of the 'new' path when the Folder2 is called. Is there a way to clear the cache of excel after Folder1 and before Folder2 is called.

Any help would be very much appreciated!:)
